Permanent Deacon, Rev. Roger Sparks

Deacon Roger Sparks
|
Roger Sparks was ordained as a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Middlesbrough in July 2002, after a career of 36 years in Catholic education. His last appointment was as Head of a Joint Roman Catholic Secondary School in the Yorkshire Dales, hence his Incardination into the Diocese of East Anglia in Spring 2005.
Like most Permanent Deacons, Roger is a married man and he has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. As well as his Parish work, he is also Chairman of the Diocesan Schools Service Commission, where his experience in the field of education can still be called upon.
During his time as a Deacon, although he has had the privilege of ministering in St. Peter's in Rome and preaching in the Basilica in Assisi, both of these events only weeks after ordination, he still finds working in the Parish by far the most rewarding.
